Bangalore: Worker's clothes torn and attacked by ethnic youths for wearing saffron shawl

 Bangalore: A man was reportedly attacked near Shankarapuram in Bengaluru for wearing a saffron shawl. A media outlet reported that an employee who was working wearing a saffron shawl was allegedly attacked by two ethnic youths.

Surendra Kumar, a labourer, was working as a loading and unloading worker for a travel company when he was attacked. It happened on August 24 at 9.30 pm.

It is said that two unknown youths asked Surendra Kumar, who was working as a loading officer, why he was wearing a saffron shawl. They also allegedly shouted at the owner of the travel agency who came to stop them, asking why they were attacking him.

They shouted at him and tore his clothes, saying, "Why are you wearing a saffron shawl?" The owner, Ramji, has filed a complaint with the Kalasipalya police station. An NCR has been registered at the Kalasipalya police station.
