The court has ordered four days of judicial custody for Sharat Kumar of Kalladka Baltila, Bantwal, who had absconded after taking money from a person on the pretext of giving him a loan at a low interest rate from HDFC Bank.

In 2021, Sharat Kumar had taken money in stages from Satish Amin of Kallamundkur, claiming that he was an employee of HDFC Bank and that he would give him a loan at a low interest rate. He did not return the money he received and harassed him without disbursing the loan. Satish Amin, who was aware of his fraud, deposited his check in the bank in 2023. It bounced.

Although a warrant was issued against him at Bantwal police station in this regard, he absconded without appearing in court. Later, a non-bailable warrant was issued. Following the issuance of this warrant, he appeared in the Moodbidri court yesterday (October 28).

However, the judge refused to grant him bail on the fraud charges and remanded him in judicial custody till October 31.

Advocate Sharath Shetty argued for Satish Amin.
