Trichy, November 02: A young woman who had been missing for two days was found dead in a burnt state in a forest in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The woman, a resident of Srinivasapuram, had left home for a job interview since Thursday and had not returned.

Her parents had filed a complaint with the police station about her missing daughter and the local police had launched a search operation. After investigation, the police detected her mobile phone signal in the Sanamangalam forest area.

The police had received information that a burnt body had been found in the same forest. The police recovered the body, sent it to the district government hospital and called the victim’s mother to identify it as her missing daughter.

The mother was devastated as soon as she identified the body as her daughter. The police are now conducting further investigation. They are looking into all angles behind the woman’s murder.

Meanwhile, the incident has triggered a political war between the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the BJP in the state. State BJP president Vinoj P Selvam has launched a scathing attack on the DMK, saying that women are not safe in the state under the DMK rule.

Will the sleeping DMK government heed the mother's cry? A burnt body of a young woman was found in a forest area near Trichy. Selvam said that the mother's heart must be trembling with fear and agony when she came to know that her daughter, who had left home in the morning to go for an interview, was tortured and brutally killed.

BJP leaders, who have called for an end to the five-year DMK rule in the state, said that this DMK rule is enough, the suffering of the people must end.
