Belthangady: A horrific road accident occurred on October 29th between a car and a bike near Kanyadi Seva Dham on the Ujire-Dharmasthala road. The biker, who sustained serious injuries to his leg and head, died in hospital after treatment failed.
Bike rider Chandrahas (28), the only son of Hodikkaru Gangaiah and Kusumavathi of Navur village in Belthangady taluk, died in the accident.
Chandrahasa, along with a man named Satish, used to make a living by laying tiles. On the morning of October 29, while he was going to work in Dharmasthala on his bike, a terrible accident occurred between a car and a bike coming from Dharmasthala towards Ujire near the Seva Dham here.
Chandrahas, who was thrown from the bike onto the road due to the force of the accident, sustained serious injuries on his head and leg. He was immediately treated at a private hospital in Ujire and then admitted to a hospital in Mangalore for further treatment. He died there without responding to treatment. The bike was completely damaged in the accident. The front of the car was damaged.
