An incident took place on the evening of the 27th when thieves stole a woman's black pearl necklace worth Rs 2 lakh from a KSRTC bus going from Puttur to Balugodi.
The woman and her sisters boarded a bus from the KSRTC bus stand in Puttur at 4.17 pm on October 27 on the Kaniyur-Balugod route. While travelling towards Kaniyur at around 4.45 pm, they noticed that the gold chain from the woman's neck had been stolen. Immediately, the woman and her family members conducted an extensive search in Savanur and the surrounding areas of Kaniyur. However, the stolen chain was not found. After this, her son filed a complaint at the Puttur city police station.
A case has been registered at the Puttur City Police Station in this regard. The police have registered a case and are investigating. They have checked the CCTV footage of the bus stand and laid a trap to find the thieves.
