Hassan: A young man was brutally murdered by being hacked to death with a machete in broad daylight at the transport bus stand in Belur town, Hassan.
The murdered youth has been identified as Girish (28), a resident of Channakeshavagoudru Street. The accused in the murder is Srinivas alias Seena of Surapura village.
Seena was working at a chicken shop. It is said that on Sunday night, there was a fight between Girish and Seena over a young woman. This made Seena angry with Girish. Girish, who was working at a bakery, had gone to the toilet at the transport bus stand and came out at around 11 am today.
At this time, Sena, who was waiting, grabbed a machete and attacked Girish, accidentally slashing him and escaping. Girish, who was lying in a pool of blood, died on the way to the district hospital in an ambulance. The police have visited the spot and conducted an investigation. The incident took place within the limits of Belur police station.
