Moodbidri: A young man stabbed a woman with a sword in Varnabettu under Paladka Gram Panchayat in the taluk on Saturday. The seriously injured woman has been admitted to the hospital.
The injured in the incident has been identified as Sanjeevi (Nayana Naik), wife of Kerekodi resident Naveen. She has sustained serious injuries on her head, hands and legs. The crime was committed by a young man named Rajesh Naik, a resident of Ram Mohan Nagar. Police Inspector Sandesh P.G., who reached the spot immediately after the incident, has taken the accused Rajesh Nayak into custody.
A case has been registered at the Moodbidri police station and the police are conducting further investigations.
