Bagalkot, November 02: BJP and Congress workers have clashed like rags during the Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society (PKPS) President-Vice President elections. The incident took place on October 29 in Rannabelagali village of Bagalkot, and the video of the brawl has now gone viral.


The Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society elections were scheduled for October 29. PKPS, which has a total strength of 13 members, had 6 BJP-backed and 6 Congress-backed candidates contesting. Another one was in the fray. Out of them, Congress-backed candidates Jagadish Malgi and Haralaiah were caught by the BJP through an operation. When these two came to the PKPS office to vote, Congress workers came forward to stop them. This issue has led to heated arguments between the workers of both the parties. The situation turned ugly and a brawl broke out.


Congress and BJP workers not only fought but also attacked each other with sticks and sticks. During this, the Mudhol police struggled to control the agitated people and finally dispersed the workers by using light lathi-charge. In the wake of all these developments, the elections of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society have been postponed.
