The Narcotics Control Bureau and Customs officials have seized hydro ganja and cocaine worth crores of rupees in separate operations in Bengaluru. Major peddlers, including a foreign woman, have been arrested in these operations held at Hebbal, Kempegowda Interstate Airport and Chikkabanavar.
Bengaluru, June 16: Police and Customs officials have carried out a major operation against a drug ring in Bengaluru and seized hydro ganja and cocaine worth a total of over Rs 5.67 crore in three separate cases. Three people, including a Ugandan-origin female peddler involved in international and interstate drug dealing, have been arrested.

Hydro ganja worth Rs 2.20 crore seized in Hebbal
The Hebbal police station in the city conducted a raid based on specific information and arrested a long-time accused named Imran Pasha, who was engaged in hydro ganja dealing. 3 kg 180 grams of hydro ganja worth Rs 2.20 crore was seized from the arrested person. It is said that accused Imran was bringing this drug to Bengaluru from Nashik in Maharashtra, and criminal cases have already been registered against him at different police stations in the city.
Ganja worth Rs 2.77 crore found at Kempegowda Airport
Customs officials have carried out a massive hunt at Kempegowda International Airport near Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district. A passenger who arrived in Bengaluru from Bangkok, Thailand, was found carrying 7.92 kg of hydroponic cannabis worth Rs 2.77 crore when his luggage was checked. The authorities seized the cannabis, detained the passenger and registered a case under the NDPS Act and are conducting intensive interrogation.
Ugandan-origin female peddler in CCB's trap
In another major operation, the CCB Narcotics Control Unit police conducted a raid in Chikkabanavar and seized 130 grams of cocaine worth Rs 70.50 lakh. A Ugandan-origin female drug peddler, Janath, and a drug receiver, Wahab Elvis Younis, have been arrested.
The accused, Wahab, was dealing drugs around Yeshwantpur and Goraguntepalya. The arrested woman, Janat, had come to India on a business visa and started a peddling business. It has come to light that she had previously been caught in a drug case in Delhi and had served a 5-year prison sentence.
