PUC Student’s Death Shocks College Community; Police Looking Into Circumstances

 A second PUC student committed suicide by hanging herself in her room at Hallingeri in Kokkad village this morning (June 16).

The deceased has been identified as Shweta (18), daughter of Ramesh, a native of Hiregunjal-Chikkagunjal in Dharwad district. For the past five years, Shweta's parents had been living in Hallingeri near Kokkad and were earning their living by working as labourers. Shweta was studying in a private college in Belthangady.

According to information, Shweta was getting up in the morning as usual and preparing to go to college. It is said that her father had gone out for work when the incident took place, while her mother was alone at home. Meanwhile, Shweta was found hanging herself in her room at home.

The exact reason for the suicide is not yet known. More information is awaited on this.
