An insurance agent's body was found in a drain in Faridabad. The police have arrested the woman and her fiancé in connection with the case. The body was identified using the registration number of a bike parked nearby.
New Delhi, October 28: An insurance agent's body was found in a drain in Faridabad. The police have arrested the woman and her fiancé in connection with the case. The woman told the police that she had murdered the deceased Chander because he was blackmailing her.
According to the police, Chander's body was found in the drain on Sunday morning. The body was identified using the registration number of a bike parked nearby. It is learnt that Chander lived in Vinod Nagar in East Delhi, about 30 km from Faridabad.
The police have contacted his family. There were injury marks on the head and neck of the body. A murder case was registered after a complaint was filed by Chander's brother Madan Gopal.
During the investigation, the police have arrested Lakshmi (29) and Keshav (26). Lakshmi told the police that she had known Chander for five years. She had recently got engaged to Keshav. Chander was upset with this, and he blackmailed Lakshmi and told her not to marry Keshav.
Fed up with this blackmail, she and Keshav planned to kill Chander, said police spokesperson Yashpal Singh. On October 25, Lakshmi had called Chander to Mithapur in Delhi. She asked him to go to a deserted area in Atmadpur, Faridabad on a bike. There, Keshav and his two friends attacked Chander.
After suffocating him, the accused threw the body into a drain and fled the scene. The accused took documents from Chander's pocket. But the number plate of the bike helped the police identify him. Police said they are looking for Keshav's two accomplices who were involved in the crime.
